Excursion 3

Ascending into the mountains of Kastellos with the smells of wild nature all around, you can experience one of the most ancient of Cretan villages which still retains it's many traditions. You can buy souvenirs and traditional products and enjoy local cuisine. The history begins from the Byzantine period when it flourished. Going to Kritsa you can visit the museum at the Byzantine church of 'Panagia Kera' with it's unique frescoes and the church of Panagia Odigitria in the village.
